I am a visual ethnographer, and I teach at American University in Bulgaria (AUBG). My areas of research include social dynamics, based on global migration, transnationalism and migrant integration, and working with indigenous peoples of the American Southwest. I am recently developing a mobile storytelling curriculum with emphasis on social research and visual marketing. Since 2016 my transnational team develops a long-term creative media research "New Roots" in Vienna, Austria with the support of EGA - Women in the Center. I am a member of the executive committee of Ethnografilm Festival, Paris, France. I am also a member of International Visual Sociology Association, Phi Kappa Phi, Delta Phi Alpha, and Phi Theta Kappa honor societies. My collaborative documentary films have been screened in the United States, France, Germany, The Netherlands, The United Kingdom, and Austria. My photography work has been published in different media in Europe and the United States, including the Arizona Highways magazine, and a permanent installation at Flagstaff Pulliam Airport.
