Portrait: Kiril Kirkov I am a visual ethnographer, and I teach at American University in Bulgaria. My areas of research include social dynamics, based on global migration, transnationalism and migrant integration, and working with indigenous peoples of the American Southwest. Since 2016 my transnational team develops a long-term creative media research "New Roots" in Vienna, Austria with the support of EGA: The Women's Center of Vienna, UNHCR Austria, AUBG, Northern Arizona University, and University of Miami. I am a member of the International Visual Sociology Association, and the American Anthropological Association. I am also a member of the executive committee of Ethnografilm Festival, Paris, France. My collaborative documentary films have been screened in the United States, The Netherlands, France, Germany, and Austria. My photography work has been published in different media in Europe and the United States, including the Arizona Highways magazine, and a permanent installation at Flagstaff Pulliam Airport.
