I am a visual ethnographer, and I teach at the American University in Bulgaria (AUBG). My areas of research include social dynamics, global migration, transnationalism, and working with indigenous peoples of the American Southwest.
Since 2016, my transnational team has been developing a long-term creative media research project titled "New Roots" in Vienna, Austria, supported by EGA - Women in the Center. I have also developed a mobile storytelling curriculum focused on social research and visual marketing.
I am a member of the executive committee of the Ethnografilm Festival in Paris, France, and of various honor societies including the International Visual Sociology Association, Phi Kappa Phi, Delta Phi Alpha, and Phi Theta Kappa. My collaborative documentary films have been screened internationally across the United States, France, Germany, The Netherlands, The United Kingdom, and Austria.
My photography work has been published in different media in both Europe and the United States, including Arizona Highways magazine, and features a permanent installation at Flagstaff Pulliam Airport. I strive to capture the authentic experiences of the communities I engage with through my lens.
I split my time between Bulgaria, Austria, and Arizona, allowing me to immerse myself in multiple cultures and perspectives, which profoundly influences my work and artistic vision.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about my journey and artistic endeavors. I invite you to explore my work and connect with me to discuss ideas and collaborations.
